COFFEE WITH CHANGEMAKERS



August 2021
Our first event was at the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center, with over 40 attendees and 25 community sponsors. The event began with lessons on confidence, leadership, and public speaking, and concluded with a segment on networking and a one-on-one with panel members.
April 2022
GirlsLead Co. was invited to host a workshop at Lincoln College Preparatory Academy as part of our second official event. We had a similar structure in terms of lessons, team-building exercises, and a panel. Attendees also got to take home a swag bag from community donors!
May 2022
Our Coffee with Changemakers event at Messenger Coffee Co. consisted of a panel of Ashley Bland Manlove, Missouri House of Reps; Christina Haswood, Kansas House of Reps; Ryana Park's-Shaw, 5th District Council Woman for KC; and Susan Sherman, Olathe's Deputy City Manager.
SUMMER CAMPS

July 2023
GirlsLead held its first 3-day summer camp at Monticello Library, with each day having an emphasis on one of our core values: confidence, public speaking, and networking. Each day had a packed agenda with plenty of hands-on activities, guest speakers, and a meet-and-greet with panelists on the last day!
March 2024
GirlsLead collaborated with Loud Light for an event at the Topeka Capitol! Our group met with various elected officials and legislators, toured the Capitol, took pictures with Governor Laura Kelly, and learned all about civic engagement and advocacy.
June 2024
GirlsLead hosted a webinar featuring a panel of inspiring women LGBTQ+ elected officials from different parts of the country. They shared their leadership journeys and experiences, providing valuable insights and inspiration to all attended.
